Virginia Women and Family Support Center Releases Uterine Health Maternal Health Course

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Bringing our community together to openly discuss, learn about, and support women's health.

GAINESVILLE, Va., July 31, 2026 — Virginia Women and Family Support Center, through its maternal health program, Carried to Full Term, released a free community Uterine Health class led by Rachel Henderson, an Ultrasound Consultant and founder of Sono Sense. She specializes in maternal-fetal sonography and has more than 15 years of experience scanning high-risk pregnancies in Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and the United States.

This community wellness course provided vital education on pelvic and uterine health. Participants explored conditions such as fibroids, polyps, and endometriosis while discovering the important role nutrition plays in supporting reproductive health. Attendees also received family and child vouchers for free essential supplies, including diapers, formula, wipes, and hygiene products, to support their households.

This community health class was held on July 11 from 10:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Participants gathered at the Gainesville facility, located at 14019 Glenkirk Rd., Gainesville, VA 20155, where they had a safe space to explore important health questions outside of a clinical setting while receiving practical resources to help them advocate for themselves during medical appointments.

"Participating in this intimate meeting of the minds was a joy. I was able to share my clinical experiences alongside the audience's real-life experiences," shared Henderson. "It was wonderful seeing a mix of ethnicities and ages while addressing concerns ranging from irregular periods to menopause. Together, we shared stories, asked questions, and discussed new perspectives and scenarios. It was a beautiful, intimate event filled with open dialogue and free of judgment."
